Fleur de Sel is known as the Celtic Queen of Salts. This salt is no imposter as Her Majesty originates from Guerande (just as authentic Champagne is from Champagne, true Fleur de Sel must come from Guerande). This exceptional salt is hand harvested according to Celtic tradition and is characterised by highly irregular, relatively fine crystals. The smaller crystals dissolve quickly, while the larger crystals take longer. This salt unravels across your palate in a wave. Pretty impressive, huh? Many chefs see this salt as the best of all sea salts, because of its elegant appearance, delicate flavour and moist texture.
Experiment... our Queen of Salts is both elegant and practical. Suited to all foods - from fried eggs to veggies, salads and roasted or baked meats or fish. The Queen is also perfect in pastries and it is the salt of salted caramel. We LOVE this salt! Long live the Queen (we say).
Why not try... our range of black salts or, if decadence is your thing, our Black Truffle or range of smoked salts might take your dishes to the next level.
Storage conditions... store in a cool, dry place. Some salts may retain moisture and become clumpy over time - this is normal as our salts are 100% natural and does not affect the quality of the salt.
Ingredients... salt. No anti-caking, free flowing additives, conditioners, allergens, genetically modified organisms.
Product of... France.
We just love Fleur de Sel, it really does take the taste of food up a notch. Until I started using this salt, I thought all salt was the same, trust me, this is not so. We use this everyday, it truly adds something extra special to either sweet or savoury foods.
I thought I'd try this, even though it's a bit pricey. It's a quality salt, slightly moist but not too salty. There are a couple of desserts that ask for Fleur De Sel as a finishing salt, so I'm sure this will be perfect for them.
Excellent large salt crystals that works well with savory or sweets. Product arrived quickly
