Kala Namak or Black Salt is a special type of Indian mineral salt often used to flavour Indian street food and today frequently enjoyed by vegans.
It is actually pinkish grey rather than black and has a very distinctive sulfurous mineral taste (like hard boiled egg yolks). Black Salt is used in Indian cuisine as a condiment and is added to chaats, chutneys, raitas and many other savory Indian snacks.

My housemates say the taste is funny, but as a chef on a plant based diet i say this salt makes my silken tofu scramble just as desirable as my old favorite scrambled eggs as it has a sulfuric taste to it. Very nice product, fits advertised description and well worth the money.
