Also known as Kala Namak, this salt is actually a crushed Indian volcanic rock salt - when it’s not ground into the fine powder-like state you see it in now, it appears as a dark reddish-grey colour. It has a distinct smell, due to the sulphuric compounds which make it ideal for vegan cooking.
Experiment… add it to dishes that need an eggy flavour - this is great for vegans. It's a perfect addition to many Indian dishes, including pickles, curries and raitas.
Why not try… our other black salts, Hawaiian Black Salt which has a small grain size, or our Cyprus Black Salt for a larger flake grain. If you’re after something with impactful flavour, try our Black Truffle salt or the Roasted Garlic.
Storage Conditions... store in a cool, dry place. Some salts may retain moisture and become clumpy over time but that’s normal as our salts are 100% natural. It does not affect the quality of the salt.
Ingredients... Black rock salt. No anti-caking, free flowing additives, conditioners, allergens, genetically modified organisms.
