Product Review: Bentonite Clay 400g

We’re very excited to introduce a new mineral into our natural product range. Bentonite Clay – specifically Australian Sodium Bentonite – is a mineral formed from ancient volcanic ash that has been compressed and weathered over centuries, usually in the presence of water.

The result is a crystalline clay mineral with a super fine powdered texture. It has excellent colloidal properties, which means it is extremely absorbent and can absorb up to 7 times it dry mass in water.

It is important to ensure that your Bentonite Clay is of good quality and from a reputable supplier, as the product intrinsically has the ability to attract heavy metals. We are proud that our Bentonite is food grade, and therefore extremely safe for use. Our Bentonite Clay is available in both a 400g jar, and a 2.5kg bulk resealable bag.

As a natural remedy, Sodium Bentonite is useful to absorb and remove positively charged toxins from the body. It can be used both topically (on the skin or in the bath) or can be ingested in small doses to cleanse internally. Bentonite Clay, also referred to as Healing Clay, Swelling Clay or Montmorillonite, has been used for centuries for its healing properties.

The most common way to use Bentonite Clay is as a deep cleansing face purifying mask. Mix 1 part clay to 3 parts liquid (water, apple cider vinegar etc). Massage into the skin and let dry for 15-20 mins and then rinse with warm water. You can add your favourite essential oils to enhance this natural skin treatment.
